Jocks can now proudly proclaim their fondness for bacon on and off the court with these super-sexy sox. Sold by our friends at Bacon Addicts, these hot-hot-hot bacon tube socks are BENSA-approved! We’ve all heard the stories of grieving relatives having to make funeral arrangements and think up witty headstone epitaphs in the midst of their grief. With this in mind, BENSA International is happy to announce that our members can now be buried in the ultimate resting place for bacon lovers. Behold… …the bacon coffin from our friends at J & D’s. At just $2999.99, we think it’s a real
BENSA International is issuing a Fakin’ Bacon Member Alert today regarding a “bacon milkshake” that will soon be served at Jack in the Box restaurants, according to ABC news. Not only does this milkshake not include one iota of real, crunchy bacon (bacon-flavored syrup is used instead) – it weighs in at a whopping 1,081 calories. BENSA International urges its members skip this faux bacon imposter shake and instead enjoy the real thing. “A slice of crispy, crunchy, delicious broiled or pan-fried bacon has just 46 calories,” says BENSA International founder Eliza Cross. “You could enjoy 23 strips of real bacon for the same calories in this sham shake. Jack in the Box is clearly trying to capitalize on the popularity of bacon, but we’re confident Bensans won’t be suckered by this spurious scheme.” As firm believers that every rule has its exception, we just love this t-shirt design featured on The Kitchn. Happy Thanksgiving week to all of our bacon-loving friends! Here at Bensa International, we’re not surprised one bit that someone has invented a cologne featuring the scent of bacon. Fargginay describes its Classic formula as “a sophisticated spicy maple fragrance with just a hint of bacon. This artisanal Classic formula is lovingly crafted with the pure essential oil blend of bergamot, orange, lime, grapefruit, black pepper, cedar wood, vetiver, guaiacwood and two pinches of bacon salty goodness.” We like visiting the Fargginay site just to listen to the sound of sizzling bacon. The cologne is available online for $36, and the company also offers a Gold formula featuring citrus notes combined with bacon. What’s not to love? The lucky winner of the much-coveted pig corn holders and signed copy of the cookbook 101 Things To Do With Bacon, chosen randomly from all of BENSA’s recent Twitter and Facebook friends and commenters, is Meagan Warncke. Megan’s Twitter handle is @SarafinaKitchen and she is also the author of a delightful blog that we were quite thrilled to discover, Sarafina’s Kitchen, with recipes, food photography, stories, and yes folks, BACON RECIPES like Cheese and Bacon Jalapeno Rellenos and Shrimp, Grits and Broccoli with Bacon. Be sure to stop by her blog and say hello. Congratulations, Meagan! It’s so nice to meet a kindred spirit. We love summertime sweet corn almost (but not quite) as much as we love crispy, crunchy bacon.
